Chimirec Avrasya

Founded in Gebze, Kocaeli, Chimirec Avrasya is one of Turkey’s first Transit Storage Facilities. Serving the automotive and industrial sectors, the company is the representative of French-based Groupe Chimirec in Turkey. While the company operated as a Transit Storage Facility in Gebze, Kocaeli, from 2007 to 2011, and a Transit Storage Facility in Başiskele, Kocaeli, from 2011 to 2016; it decided to build an exemplary integrated facility in Gebze in 2016, started the construction of the facility in the same year, and launched its waste collection activities as an Integrated Facility after receiving its license in 2017. Built on a land of 20,000 sq. meters, the Integrated Facility was intended to be an exemplary facility for our country and successfully created brand value. The laboratory, fire protection/extinguishing systems, the ventilation system, waste storage conditions, and other machinery and equipment used in the facility were selected according to environmental, occupational safety, and quality standards in Turkey and in Europe. In July 2017;

The facility was put into service after receiving its certificate of good standing in the following areas of activity: • Transit Waste Storage, • Production of Refuse-Derived Fuels (RDF), • Hazardous Waste Recycling, • Non-Hazardous Waste Recycling, • Electrical and Electronic Waste Handling, • Packaging Waste Collection and Sorting (Type 3), and • Non-Hazardous Waste Collection and Sorting. Since then; 6,000 tonnes of waste was managed in 2017, 24,000 tonnes of waste was managed in 2018, 35,000 tonnes of waste was managed in 2019, and 52,000 tonnes of waste was managed in 2020.

The transfer of Groupe Chimirec’s experience in waste management and handling since 1957 to Chimirec Avrasya in Turkey offers a great advantage for waste management activities in our country.

We will continue to make new investments in parallel with the increase in the amount of waste in our country.
